Priory Cottage

Priory Cottage is a holiday cottage in the heart of the beautiful market town of Much Wenlock. The property is situated in a most historic part of the town, close to Wenlock Priory (English Heritage). The self catering wing is picturesque and in a lovely setting.

Sleeping 3-4, the self-contained accommodation has been created from a wing of the main house and blends modern and comfortable facilities and soft furnishings with many original features including an inglenook fire place, a kitchen range and period furniture.

The cottage is south facing and looks out over a private walled garden towards the church. The garden is a delightful place to relax with lawned areas, herbaceous borders, rambling wisteria and a mulberry tree

Within the garden there is private off-street parking for 2 medium sized cars.

Within a hundred yards there is open countryside in one direction and the town centre in the other. There are several cafes, local pubs and restaurants nearby, and footpaths leading to Wenlock Edge and the Ironbridge gorge .

There are also regular bus services to Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury.

Facilities

There is free Wifi for the property.

The sitting room features comfortable furniture, a log-burning stove in the inglenook fireplace, a TV with DVD player, a library and views over the garden and church beyond.

The recently refurbished kitchen and dining area features a fireplace with an open range, and includes an electric cooker, fridge, microwave, and a dining table with seating for four.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with one double and one single bed, together with exposed beams and good storage. There is also a smaller second bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom has high quality fittings, a bath with shower, w.c. heated towel rail and immersion heater.

There is electric storage heating and convector heating which keeps the property snug and warm. In spring, winter and autumn there is the special delight of the log and coal burning stove.

A large part of the garden in front of the wing is reserved for the use of guests, and garden furniture is provided. We provide plenty of guide books and maps, and it is our hope that you will have a relaxing and refreshing stay.

Electricity, bed linen, heating and a supply of logs are included in the price.
