Atmospheric, family run Georgian coaching inn renowned for its award winning cuisine and hospitality. Our stunning 17th century Tithe Barn is ideal for Weddings, conference and banqueting.
The hotel has an amazing interconnecting warren of lavishly decorated bars and dining rooms with old quarry tiled floors, exposed brickwork, beamed ceilings and oak panelling. Open fires roar away during the winter season. Herb posies, pot pourri and lavender bunches all help perfume the atmosphere. Lavender water is even sprayed onto pillows in the bedrooms to help aid restful sleep!
Each bedroom is unique in design with half-testers, four posters, period furniture and most even have one of the hotel’s renowned velvet covered swings hanging from the rafters – to incorporate the ‘Garden’ theme into the bedroom! Ideal for romantic stopovers and business guests alike as all rooms are ensuite, newly refurbished in 2011 with Victoria & Albert baths and rain showers, and have every modern day amenity.
The garden is a garden lovers paradise, full of unusual roses, trees, herbaceous plants and large working herb garden with over 50 varieties. The grounds have been set out to show the changing colours of every season. Several areas have been enhanced with huge stone displays, country artefacts, box hedges and pagodas. A water garden contains a variety of aquatic plants and fish.
